A little about me…
Hi! My name is Corinne. I am originally from Maryland but moved to Florida with my husband years ago. I am a teacher, have 2 wonderful little girls, and a husband. I have a dog and a mini pig. I love traveling, spending time with friends and family, and talking about aliens. If this diagnosis has taught me anything, it is to appreciate life on a day to day basis. None of us will live forever. We should all strive to do the things we want to do and realize what it is truly important before time runs out!
Every few weeks, I get random messages from myeloma patients from all over the world. They usually begin by saying they watched my myeloma interview I did years ago and wanted to reach out. Some have questions, some need reassurance, and some just want to know if I’m still alive and how I’m doing now. The magnitude that interview had on others never ceases to amaze me. I wanted to start this blog as another source of information, experiences, and inspiration for other young people who find themselves in the same unfortunate boat. I remember how desperate I was in the beginning to find someone (anyone!) that shared a similar experience with me. I spent countless hours reading through the blogs of other patients to gain insight into what I was about to face and how I could cope with it. It was so difficult because most myeloma patients are over 65 years old and in a different stage of life. There weren’t a lot of myeloma patients out there that were high risk, 34-year-old young moms. My hope is that by sharing what I went through, I can continue to help others like those who helped me.
